Should there be more televised NASCAR races on Saturday night, or should there more on Sunday afternoon?

It seems that every year more and more races are being scheduled on Saturday night instead of Sunday afternoon. There were races three Saturdays in-a-row this year. I personally feel that NASCAR was meant for Sundays and home-town racing was meant for Fridays and Saturdays. What does everyone else think?

THere have been close to the same amount of night races in Nascar for a few years. I think they've only added one in the recent years. The difference?? They have been scheduling them back to back in the past years.so people have noticed more.

Personally, yeah, it sucks for the short hometown dirt tracks..and noon in Nascar wants to harm that, b/c well, that's where most of hte driver's have started off, and it's where tomorrow's drivers are coming from. It just happens. I don't think it's damaging the business as much as some people are making it out to be. I personally love hitting the small tracks on Friday, and Saturday nights, but having Nascar Saturday night does make some things, like attending a race easier. But, to me, there will always be something about Sunday's that hold Nascar in a special place.

It's kind of a double edged sword, NASCAR is drawing fans away from the Sat. nite dirt track by racing on Sat nite, but if you bought tix to the race and it rained on Sat nite, it's nice to be able to try and run on Sunday and still get to see the race instead of going back to work and listening to it on the radio on Monday.

i am definitely in the minority here, but my opinion is LESS races all together. Saturday night or Sunday afternoon, doesn't matter, its all boring. Ive got a lot better things to do than spend 4 hours watching a bunch of rednecks drive in circles.

All of the NASCAR Nextel Cup races are televised on one network or another. The races are great to watch in person. It is good for TV to to televise them, but I strongly recommend TV stays out of dictating when the the races are run.

Well, Saturday Night races are cool, but Sunday afternoon is great because it's a great view of the track, but Sunday Night race, the Coca-Cola 600, should be on a Saturday Night.

I am totally with you. We are losing enough of our dirt tracks. We don't need nascar to help us lose even more. I would never stay home and watch a race on TV when I could go see one live. It's just not the same.
BTW - They are supposed to start televising the World of Outlaws (late models) races on July 2nd! Guess I'll have to set the recorder. I'll be too busy following the Summernationals.

I think it should be on Sunday's too. It gets to confusing when they go and mix it all up.

I personally think that they should all be on Saturday night. For two reasons. One, for the people that go to Church and then that way if they were on Saturday people that go to Church and like to watch racing, could do both. And two, night races are SOOO cool.

i dig night races as much as i dig day races. i didn't quite like three night races in a row. it threw off my week so when i woke up on sunday it took me a while to realize i wasn't late for class and it was just sunday. the first race i went to was the fall bristol race under the lights. it was pretty cool.

altogether, i don't really care when the race is as long as the racing is exciting. there is nothing worse than long green flag runs with little or no racing going on. that is how i feel asleep in the grandstands at bristol.
