98 honda cr 125 reeds?

Question:I have a 98 cr 125r can someone tell me what the reeds do on the bike and how often they should be changed.. I am new to 2 strokes..

The reeds act as the valves on a 2 stroke. They let the fuel/oil/air mixture into the cylinder. Unless they break I would replace them when ever I did I top end job...
