I love how you "sophisticated" Nascar haters pepper your witty rants with the term "redneck". Some of you even suggest that to love Nascar is to be a racist. My question is this: Since you're obviously operating from a position of ignorance, how can you be so closed-minded and bigoted?

The people who hate NASCAR always use the reasoning that it's just people going around in circles so it's boring. They obviously haven't spent enough time checking out the sport to understand what really goes on so they are obviously misinformed and uneducated regarding the sport.ALONSO puts a MASS DAMPER on SchMACKER's career. To begin with I dont think NASCAR is only for "rednecks" like they say , its for allthose that love speed. I am hispanic and I LOVE NASCAR i do nothing more then sit in front of the TV sunday afternoons. Its IGNORANCE like said before to judge a sport by nationality. NASCAR haters get some sort of sick satisfaction out of trashing NASCAR and the fans..because they want ATTENTION...they get a kick out of bashing others to make their own MISERABLE, SORRY selves feel good(and to look 'cool' to their equally miserable friends)!The haters are just plain IGNORANT. It's a streotype, obviously, that only rednecks like NASCAR. Maybe that was more true at one point in time but I don't think it holds too much water now. Albeit a large portion of the NASCAR fanbase still comes from the deep south.I have a number of reasons why I don't like NASCAR. One is that if you are a racing fan, people assume you like NASCAR (and assume you are a redneck). NASCAR is the 800 pound gorrila in the room (and they seem to be trying to be the only gorrila in the room, see Phionex International Raceway trying to stop a street race in Downtown Phoinex). Another is the "rubbing is racing" mentality. That's the kind of thinking that gets drivers killed. Another is its too slow.
Perhaps I would think differently if I were brought up watching NASCAR. Alas, I was not.
