I hate 'which is better' questions. They both have pro's and con's.Turbo's are more efficient because they don't use engine power to spool up. They do have lag because they need to wait for exhaust gas to spool them up to create boost.
Superchargers make boost very quickly and have very little lag. They use engine power to spool up so you won't see as much peak power.
The comment about one being more 'destructive' is kinda silly. Power increases, always affect the reliability of a car. If done correctly, supercharging and turbocharging are safe.

I would say a supercharger is better because you have to wate for the turbo to kick in but the supercharger is always kicked in as soon as you step on the medal.More Questions & Answers...
