Essentially the metal parts of your car form an electrical circuit. Electricity flows from the negative terminal of your battery, through the frame of your car, and back into the positive terminal of the battery. In theory cars are not well designed from an electrical standpoint so the ground wires make the flow of electrons through the body of the car easier, which should improve ignition and audio system performance.

what nick n said. also don't buy ground wires that just kinda bull. got to you local hardware store and get some 6 or 8 ga wire and just wire abunch of stuff to the body or directly to the neg terminal of the bat its self
