Any good street racing in st. louis?
To begin, the 2 ppl who said not always 43 are wrong ,It has been since the 98 season,The only time there hasnt been 43 since 98 was at the Fall 01 Race @ New Hampshire because a team that had qualified had Ceased Operations.Another reason was for safety, many tracks back in the day had 2 pit lanes 1 on the front and 1 on the back...that caused much confusion and chaos when the fields were un-limited.And another reason is the economic factor, while in real dollars even in the old days of the sport it was expensive,it cost about 15-18 million dollars a year to field 1 cup team, most of it coming from sponsor money.Lastly,on the entry forms for all races it states 43 starters ,36 on time,6 provisional, and 1 PAst Champions Provisional...Is Carl Edwards going to make the Chase for the Nextel Cup this year?
not allways 43who ever was on trackside last weekend (darlington weekend) mentioned something about 70 people in a race. i believe that is right, but don't quote me on it. i think the biggest reason for 43 now is just safety and not so much tradition. can you imagine having more that 43 people at a place like bristol where it doesn't take long to have a constant train of cars going around. dang!!!
there not always 43 if you dont qualify or for some other reasons
