Why did alot of Red soxs fans get angry with jimmy fallon?

1 - As a young catcher, my coach made sure that I understood the position first. It is simple to catch the ball and throw it back to the pitcher, but a good catcher helps to control the game (calling pitches, fielder positioning).

2 - A good balanced crouch. Start the good habits early, and he will be catching for a long time (exercises like jump squats, try to stay away from weights right now and incoporate leg exercises that utilize the body weight, i.e.- plyometrics). Catching on the balls of his feet will help him to get to those balls off the plate and/ or in the dirt. Knowing how to shift your crouch for runners on base (i.e.- fast runner on first, catcher should position his left knee so that it faces the second base bag while still giving the pitcher a target. This will allow for a quick step and throw instead of standing and throwing).
4 - Balls in the dirt....simple, GET DOWN, GET THE GLOVE DOWN. Have him watch tape of hockey goalies, and he will have a good idea about blocking balls. Watching hockey goalies was helpful for me.
5 - Learning the strikezone is an essential part of being a catcher. This helps with a number of things....knowing the umpires strikezone, receiving and framing pitches for better calls (help your pitcher). Learning how to set-up behind the plate, this usually determines how umpires make their calls.
Also, learning not to show up an umpire, as well as making him your friend.
6 - Learn your pitching staff..learn their tendencies, pitches, release points, mechanics (these things will come with experience).
7 - CONFIDENCE. Confident that you can call a good game. COnfident that you can throw runners out. Confident that no ball will get through. Confidence in yourself to be able to control a game. Confidence that you will make that play at the plate when the time comes.

Some believe that the catcher is just the guy behind the plate
who throws the ball back to the pitcher. Explain the importance of a catcher to the game of baseball. I myself take great pride in catching a game especially a win, because I know what a big role I played.
Catching may not be the most glorious position, but the most fulfilling.

What kind of advice?

Has there every been an inning with more than 4 or more Ks?

The best advice I would give is to practice, practice, practice.
The only way he will learn the mechanics is to be in full gear and throw down to first, second, and third from his knees. Do this approx. 10 times each base-20 times for second base. This will build his throwing arm and accuracy. Next I would practice throwing pop-ups and foul balls and have him get used to throwing off the mask and going for the ball.
When you are practicing live pitching he will also need to learn how to know what pitches are coming and the location. He will need to learn how to use his glove in framing the pitch to assist his pitcher in hitting his spots. He should also be learning on how to use his equipment in "trapping" the ball on wild pitches. If you can get him to work hard, you will reap the rewards. A good pitcher, catcher, and first baseman are hard to come by.
I hope this helps! Good Luck!

How tall is a little leauge pitching mound?

MECHANICS, MECHANICS, MECHANICS!!!!!!! Throwing, Blocking, "Properly" Framing. Seems obvious, but it's extremely difficult to worry about proper mechanics at age 11-12-13 and so on when there playing great (maybe the best player in the league) AT THE TIME. But the longer you wait to teach these proper mechanics the harder it will be to break bad habits when they get older. And when this happens he slowly "loses his greatness". Hard to go over all mechanics online but you can do research online about mechanics and so forth. PS My brother is 16 yrs old (Sophmore) and is the starting catcher at our local high school. He will also be the bullpen catcher for the Wareham Gatemen of the Cape Cod league baseball league which is a Collegiate summer league you may have heard of. And mechanics mechanics mechanics is whats allowing him to have the success he's having. Hope you start teaching MECHANICS at every practice session you have. Hope this helps. GO RED SOX :)
