Yes, I agree he has always been great, but If he was always "this good" as in what he is doing right now - this April - he would have shattered practically every batting record already.I doubt he will be able to keep his current pace, but that doesn't mean he can't break a couple of records this season.

All of the sudden? He has been good since he entered the league, he was the mvp of baseball 2 seasons ago. He is one the best to ever play. He can keep it up, he has done it foever last season being the exception.Is'nt his contract up for renewal? That's always an incentive.
And no, he cant keep it up or he will pass Barry Bonds in about 2 seasons!
So good all of the sudden? He has always been good. I am a Yankees fan and I was pissed for all the * the fans were giving Arod. He has consistenly put up a 300 ba average 100 rbi and 30 homeruns.
It is just a result of arod starting fresh with the fans off his back!! Remember this though when he goes through a cold spell sometime in the season.

He became controversial with the contract Texas gave him, and he became hated when he became a Yankee. None of this changed the facts. He's always been a brilliant ballplayer. Sure he slumped last season, but everybody goes through that. Overall, no one with an open honest mature mind can deny that he is a great ballplayer. I don't like him anymore, but I won't deny what he's accomplished.

Even when he was still in his peachfuzz days, he was great. He's great now. He will be great for a long time.
He will, I believe, help baseball and its fans get over the steroid hurdle it faces today.
