He was the best player of his time regardless of his color. By being such a superior ball player that helped him break the color barrier in baseball. He will always be remembered as the best of the best.Who is dumb enough to go and pay this money to see these punks ?
He broke the color barrier in baseball and showed people African Americans can play.because he broke the color barrier in baseball and lead the way for more negro league players to join.he is a hero of baseball and has paved the way for many great past present and future players.he will always be remembered as a baseball legend...he didnt just break the color barrier either...he was a magnificent player..
What was the most pathetic team youve seen in the history of MLB?
He showed that African Americans could compete (and compete very well) at the Major League level. Before Robinson, African Americans had their own leagues, known as the Negro Leagues and the dominant view at the time was that colored players (not just black but Hispanic as well) would not be able to compete with white players. It's just a part of our country's sad history of race relations, but because of Robinson's legacy the MLB is one of the most diverse professional sports leagues in the world.Yes, he was the first African American baseball player in the Major leagues, but he was also the first civil rights activist. He opened the door and made it possible that African Americans could at least have an opportunity to participate in, not just sports, but everything else. HIs success on and off the field helped to challenge and attempted to change old beliefs about African Americans. His legacy goes much further than a baseball diamond. For every African American who steps on a sports field(baseball, football, basketball) they have Jack Robinson to thank for that opportunity
