Basically throwing the 12 to 6 is dependant on where your fingers are on the seams. Grip the baseball off center with your middle finger on the seam then snap the wrist. Remember the finger on the seam is what gives the ball the rotation. Also to make the pitch effective use the same arm speed as your fastball to not give the pitch away.

The best 12 to 6 is actually a knuckle-curve. Place your index finger bent with the fingernail flat on the ball, and your middle finger along the seam just where it starts to widen from the middle. Make sure you bring your arm straight over the top, and snap your arm and wrist hard down in front of you.
