Isnt the continued dleays of games proof the league needs to be builing more domes instead of open parks?
Question:i mean i love outdoors but what about retractable roofs to its just common sense we wouldnt be having this delayings this week.
Answers:
What do you think of the Barry Bonds homerun record chase?
Domes, No. But i can understand retractable roofs. When it is too hot, or too cold, or too rainy/snowy it ruins games. Schdules get shifted, fans get upset. They should start building more stadiums with retractable roofs.Yankee fans, the Mariners didn't beat the Yankees last night, the umpires did! Am I right?
the mlb is too cheap and would not want to spend that kind of money. they could change the schedule to play in the warmrer cities insteadWith the reigning batting champion,Cy Young, and MVP do the Twins have enough to do well this year?
They need to reduce the schedule to 154 games , and the playoffs should be limited to a contest between the National League and American League champion .These actions would greatly reduce the length of the season and limit the chance of bad weather interfering with games .
Do you believe... in the Brewers?
They don't need more domed parks. What they need is for the schedule makers to realize that it's still cold in the northern part of the country in early April. There are enough teams that are either south of the Mason Dixon line or that do have roofs to play the first couple of weeks in those cities. Why should Detroit and Cleveland keep getting rained/snowed out when they could be playing in Seattle or Toronto (cities with roofs)? Why not have the NL start off with games in Arizona, San Diego, LA, Houston instead of Pittsburgh, Chicago, Milluakee or Colorado? In my opinion, all MLB needs to do is schedule games with some common sense on the TV on the Weather Channel. If you want to take baseball out of the northeastern part of the country (Cleveland and Detroit) you take it out of the areas that baseball first started where the hall of fame is in Cooperstown, New York. and isn't rain the most common thing during spring and spring training (Florida). and yes the price of the retractable roofs are huge and costly. with most of the ball parks being made out of taxpayers money they don't want to add the extra 40+ million dollars to the project. along with the fact that the older parks are some of the nicest parks in baseball. what would Fenway look like with a roof? or Wrigley Field. Both are spectacular ballparks that have been around for decades and are landmarks in their respective cities.
I'm from Cleveland and trust me i would have laughed if you told me back in November/December (when schedules are released) it would snow in April. up until about a day before the first snow out i probably would have had the same response in laughing because it was like 70 degrees outside with clear skies.
I will admit that it was a bad idea for the Indians to play Seattle in Cleveland for their only time in Cleveland the first week of the season. during the earlier season i think MLB teams should play only teams in their own division that way if their is a postponement it can be easily rescheduled. but with the way that baseball is played their will be delays.
And you have to admit Hindsight is alway 20/20
