Question:What is the record for the most games lost in one season by a single team with that team making it to the playoffs that same year...

AND

What is the record for the most games won in one season by a single team without making it to the playoffs that year.

Answers:

I see Jacob Thompson is age eligable for this years MLB draft and I was wondering where he would likley land.?

In 1993 the SF Giants won 103 games, and lost on a tie breaker on the last game of the year to the Dodgers. The tie breaker was against the San Diego Padres who also won 103 games but had the better heads up record vs. the Giants that year by one game. This is actually a tie with the 1954 Yankees who won 103, lost 51 but lost their pennant to the Indians who won 110 games that very same year. Used to be more common before the wild crad was introduced about ten years ago.

The Padres got in in 2005? with a record of 82-80.

Vernon Wells At-Bat Song?! ANYONE!?

Part 2 I think was the '54 Yankees who won over 100 ( 104) but Cleveland won 110 and went to the series.

Part 1:There were a few sub .500 teams as I recall, but which?

What type of training should i do during the days I'm not pitching?

2006 St.Louis Cardinals 83-79
1993 SF Giants 103-59

Did anyone see the ball boy get hit in the face at the Dodgers Padres game on Sunday night?

Cy Young holds the record for most games won (511) and most games lost (316) in his career.

Losses in a season:

Worrell, Tim 1990 12 losses.

Briley, Dennis 1984 11 losses.

Conrady, Jeff 1984 10 losses.

Hill, Jim 1970 10 losses.

As for a single team. sorry couldn't find the answer.

Just asking?

The 1954 Yankees with a 103-51 record did not make the playoffs, and the 2005 Padres sporting an 82-80 record, made the playoffs, obviously they did not win.

Should you use your new softball bat in the batting cages? Or just use it in games with the real balls??

The Mets in 1973 were 82-79 and made it to the series almost winning it.

Should the Brewers have kept Carlos Lee??

The Mets in 1973 were 82-79 and made it to the series almost winning it.

And the 1993 Giants 103 - 59.

Who will get the first no hitter of the season?

I remember the 1993 Giants were 103-59 and lost the Western Division to Atlanta by 1 game.
