David Wright overrated?
Question:He hasnt done anything great, i mean he's young and hit a home run in the all star game, but not deserving of the credit he is getting. Is it because he's in a high market team.

Best outfielder in the Major Leagues?
Probably! It always seems like when a young player comes along and has a decent year, right away he's the second coming of Mickey Mantle. It takes an entire career to determine whether a player was overrated or not. So far I'd have to say yes he is overrated.I don't think so. He did have one great year but produced in the minor leagues also so safe to say, last year was not a fluke. He's been off to a slow start this year, but lately has been hitting well and even stealing bases. He has a very high ceiling and I just think it's way too early to call him overrated.
Overhyped and overexposed maybe because he plays in New York? Yes, I might agree with that, but as a player, I think he's the real deal.
How did you like the Red Sox home opener today?
no david wright is not overrated. his skills and talent just havent awakendDo u think the braves will make it to the world series?
Are you out of your mind??? David Wright is far from being overrated!!! Ok.. so he hasn't been having much luck lately, but that doesn't make him over rated... apparently his time really likes him..he shaved his head... and guess 95% of the team shaved theres. so yea.DAVID WRIGHT IS NOT OVER RATED!!!No he isn't overrated. DWright is hasn't even hit his prime yet!
Not at all. Lots of pressure from the media. He is young and should have an outstanding career.
Which team is the red sox mortal enemy?
He gets a little more attention than he normally would because he plays in New York and the team is going well.He just signed a big contract and is considered to be one of the young future stars of the league.
He's also one of the top 3 3rd baseman in the league behind A-Rod and Cabrera.
With all this going for him it's really hard not to have his name mentioned a lot.
he is overrrated.
What honor did Jackie Robinson achieve in his third year with the Dodgers?
David Wright is a five tool player with a huge up-side. Let's just say he has everything going for him and only time will tell if he can measure up to everyones expectationsDavid Wright is a tad overrated, and for good reasons:
1. He is by and large, the best 3rd baseman the Mets have ever developed. In the 45 plus years of the team's history, they have run through more third sackers than most teams. They have tried the likes of Jim Fregosi, Amos Otis, Joe Foy, Howard Johnson, Jeff Kent, Bobby Bonilla, etc. at the hot corner, and drafting a 3B hasn't really netted results, until David Wright came along. Is he worth the hype? For Mets fans who could count Robin Ventura as the best 3B the team has ever had (and the best they have developed before David Wright? Try Edgardo Alfonso!), David Wright has been a breath of fresh air.
2. He plays in New York. For many years, both the Mets and Yankees have pimped out their younger players in hopes of getting additional publicity (and fleecing unsuspecting teams in trades). Remember Robert Stratton? Bill Pulsipher? Geoff Goetz? Ryan Jaroncik? Pee Wee Lopez? With the exception of Pulsipher, none of the other guys made it to the Show, but were overblown to be great superstars. Wright initially was overhyped too, to the point where he was overrated early on. While he is one of the best 3B in baseball, give him time to play in someimportant postseason games, win a MVP award, and supplant the likes of Scott Rolen, Miguel Cabrera, Ryan Zimmerman, Alex Rodriguez, and Eric Chavez in the 3B echelon before overrating him.
.435 is hardly overrated
