Can you throw the ball to the runner to get them out?(baseball)?

Has anyone else noticed that..?

No.You can't get the runner out by hitting him with a thrown ball. However, if that runner is hit by a batted ball, he is out.

Which player looks like he loves his job and which one wishes he was somewhere else?

No. The ball needs to be in possession of the opposite team when it is touched to the runner or it doesn't count. That is why you see sometimes when a runner is trying to make it to home before the catcher gets the ball, the runner will sometimes push into the catcher hard to try and knock him over. Because if the ball falls out of the glove from the hard push, the runner will be deemed safe because the catcher lost possession of the ball.

How do you find out what your bat size is supposed to be??

What are good end-of-season gifts for Little League players? Ideally something under $10.?

The runner's job is to get to the base, not catch the ball. So, no. Throwing the ball at the runner and hitting him with the ball will not get him out either.
A member of the opposite team, with the ball in hand, must tag the runner or tag the base the runner is trying to get to. That is, assuming the ball was not caught mid-air, which in that case the runner would be out whether or not he reaches the base.
Hope that answers things well enough. =)

In reference to the post above: Really? Never heard of that.

Does a feilder's choice count as a hit an out or is it like a walk?

No. This has been against the rules since the beginning of baseball and Alexander Cartwright's rules in 1845.

Other baseball predecessors, such as "town ball," DID allow throwing at the runner, or "soaking." But this was dropped when baseball was invented.

Occasionally, a thrown ball will hit a runner and the runner will be called out. Most often, this is a result of the runner being out of the baseline and getting in the way of a throw. A runner can't do that. Therefore, the out is for the runner doing something illegal. A runner will never be called out for simply getting hit by a thrown ball.

In fact, it can be a good idea strategically to cover as much space as possible in the baseline to get hit by a thrown ball if one comes. It stings for a moment, but hey, if it gets you out of a rundown, it's all good.

Baseball question?

No. In fact, if you were to hit the runner with the ball, the ball is live, the runner can continue to advance, and you will be charged with an error.

Could someone explain to me the numbers and letters with baseball?

You can't intentionally "peg" the runner with the ball. This results in a live ball and may allow the runners to advance further not too mention possibly being ejected from the game. If however the baserunner is out of the baseline and intentionally impedes a throw and is hit by the ball, it is up to the umpires descretion and the runner may be ruled out.

Is it posible for Alex Rodrigez to get 74 home runs this year?
