Why hasn't a major league team picked up out of favour second baseman Jorge Cantu??
Question:Cantu looked sharp in spring training but seemingly lost his starting job to BJ Upton. The kid's good, but Cantu has proved he's a worthy major leaguer, hitting 28 HRs in '05, knocking in 117 RBI's, with 40 doubles and getting 171 hits. Ok, he's had his injury problems over the past couple of seasons, but should other major league teams not pursue this guy and give him a shot? He's proved he has the quality to be an all-star calibre player

Whats the longest hitting streak...?
From what i understand, he looked BAD in Spring training, thats why he isn in the minors right now. Those numers you showed were from 2 years ago, and apparently it isnt the injuries that the Drays dont like, Ive heard he has a SERIOUS attitude problem.. he seems to think that because of the good year he had two years ago, that the Drays should treat him like a superstar and ignore the bad year he had last year and Tampa doesnt agree... maybe theyve sent him down as punishment, i know thats what HE thinks it is. He will get dealt and im sure there are teams out there who would like to have him, but i think Tampa is trying to prove sumthing to him.. That THEY have the Control, not him. What are some of your favorite baseball announcer cliches?
Most of the teams in baseball have a functioning 2B on their team right now, although it is surprising that no one has pick up Cantu yet. Cantu has only one good year of offensive stats to back him up, which might make any interested team a little gunshy about him. Honestly, the Red Sox should inquire about him--he's relatively young and would give Dustin Pedroia more time to hone his skills while playing everyday in AAA. Plus it would give the Red Sox more punch in the middle infielder position (with Julio Lugo). The only downside is that he is a little below average defensively. My feeling is why not take the chance? What is the MLB team record for consecutive games with a double?
it could be a flukeif he couldve repeated those stats last year a team would pick him up
who knows he may go to houston, since tampa wants brad lidge, seeing as biggio is really old and will most likely retire after this year
