One: Everyone on this planet has a certain degree of racism within themselves. Anyone who denies it is a liar. We are all products of our individual environment.Two: Aaron has made it public that he has no intention of following Barry "Steroid" all over the country waiting for him to pass 755 home runs. With that said he doesn't have the right to criticize Bud Selig for not attending the "big event".
No body is "trying to keep a black man down", because 99% of the people could give a crap about the "black man". Most people look at him as a JERK!
Three: If you're talking about Barry Bonds coming from an underprivileged childhood you better do your home work. Bonds was born into a very wealthy family and never had to live the "black experience". Except for the color of his skin, Bonds has nothing in common with other blacks.

Aaron might be racist, you never really know. Just put into consideration that he grew up in a time where racism was all over him in the streets, and on the field. Who knows what kind of things he had to deal with in the clubhouse and dugouts during the games with all his white teammates. racism is still around and maybe Aaron is one of those people who support it. Hank Aaron is prejudiced against players who cheat. Race has nothing to do with it. He is also intelligent for not attending because he would be continuously questioned about what he believes about Barroid using steroids and HGH. This way he gets to keep his beliefs to himself.

1st, Barry was anything but underprivileged. The stories of his father's tirades when he was in college include him driving his MERCEDES onto the field to yell at the coach.
2nd, Hank was a pioneer who actually dealt with death threats and hatred because he was a black man breaking a white mans record. Hank Aaron is absolutely not racist, he has been a victim of racism, not purveyor of it.
It is a shame that Barry is going to break Hank's record, but don't expect Hank to be a cheerleader for Barry when so much of the circumstantial evidence is that Barry has artifically elevated his abilites to break the record.

I do not think he wants to get inovolved in the controversy of the record breaking event by Bonds. and the media has made this a very strnage story of Aarons vs Bonds. I think Henry carries around a certain amount of bitterness from the racism he endured as a kid growing up in the 40s and 50s. He is old enough to have actually played on a negro league team based in Indianapolis. I cant really blame him much for being bitter, he also had to deal with racial harassment in his pursuit of Ruth's record. And from what I gathered, he wasn't too warmly received at first by some fans when the Braves moved from Milwaukee to the south (Atlanta) in '66. As far as Selig wanting to keep anyone down? Naaaaah. Hes too much of a left wing liberal to ever do that. If he has a beef with Barry, most likely its something personal.no. he just doesn't approve of cheating. Barry Bonds should be ban for life and not allowed in the hall of fame.
