I'm going to give you the only answer that has nothing to do with steroid allegations. Aaron had a stronger arm than Bonds. Barry's arm is more accurate, but he lacked arm strength. Aaron was probably a little faster than Bonds at age 24. Aaron just didn't have that much of an opportunity to steal bases. I have had the opportunity to watch the career of Barry Bonds, and not Hank Aaron. What I can say is that Hank never played through the steriod era, and the juiced ball era.The parks were bigger then, and the quality of pitching was better.
Would Barry be able to produce the same numbers back in the 50's and 60's...I wish I could be sure.
