In terms of playing time, it is up to the discretion of the coach on who to play--there is no playing time requirement. However, there is often a rule for pitchers. Pitchers usually have a maximum number of innings they can pitch in a 7 day span (I don't know the actual figure).

What 5 MLB players would baseball be better off without?

I believe you can sit one player for an entire game, but you`re not going to make it the whole season with that number of players.

What Do I Do broken thumb??

It is high school athletics, playing time is not required, nor should it be. High Schools usually have tryouts for teams and many kids just don't make it. Athletic ability, attitude, and grades can have an impact. Look up your state athletic association and find their rules on playing time. In baseball, many regulate the amount of innings players can participate in.
