Why are there 6 teams in the National League Central and only 4 in the American League West?
Question:Major League Baseball, why aren't the astros in the AL West
Answers:
1st person to answer correctly gets the best answer!?
Because with the exception of interleague play and the World Series, the NL and the AL don't play each other. Because of this, there needs to be an even number of teams in each league. Since there are only 30 teams, one league has to have 16 teams, and the other league has to have 14, since you can't have 15 in each league. Having 15 teams in each league would create too many scheduling problems.they should be moved to the AL but it probably wont happen because the rangers are there
They did this so that each league would have an even number of teams. This way, if a situation should arise in which each team has a game scheduled, there would be no games between leagues.
How did the Twins choke so bad last year?
Because there needs to be an even number of teams in each league, mainly because interleague play does not occur throughout the season. If there were 15 teams in each league, then some team would be sitting idle for 3-4 days at a time.Should baseball expand again, which is unlikely in the near future, they will most likely add 2 teams to the AL.
I wan't to know the same thing to it has been driving me crazy for years!
The only thing I can tell you is their ar 6 teams in the NL Central because the Milwalkee Brewers moved from the AL to the NL in 1995
