What should the new Oakland A's name be?

Question:They are relocating to a new stadium in Fremont. I've heard "Silicon Valley Athletics" and "San Jose Athletics", although the name will have "at Fremont" at the end, like the "Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim".

Answers:

Who is the best pitcher in baseball this year?

First off, the Giants have the most prolific steroid user, so that should be their new name. Next, the Athletics were named over 140 years ago, and they were named because the team originated from the "Athletic Club" of Philadelphia, the popular name for a gentlemen's club in the 19th century(and no, I don't mean a strip joint). So they shortened it to the Philadelphia Athletics, or A's, and the team never changed its name when they moved.

To answer the question actually posed, I don't think they should change their name, but if they do, it will probably be like the Angels name change. They used Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim because people had no clue where Anaheim is really, so they added the larger market to be more recognizable and marketable. So the A's will probably end up being the Oakland Athletics of Freemont now that the prescedent has been set by MLB.

Who is going to be in the world series?

Shouldn't they also change the 'Athletics' to 'Steroid Injecting Freaks?'...

Mets question..?

The Oakland Athletics of Fremont? That sucks.
How about the Bay Area A's? Bay's for short.
The A's are on their third city already. Enough with the name changes. . . .

Paul Lo Duca V.S. Johnny Estrada...which one?!?!?

Whoever gave them the name "Athletics" as a nickname? They should have been immediately fired.

Who has the most home runs in a week in MLB?

Sneak in a title sponsor...

the eBay Area Athletics -- short form "eeb A's"

There's too much IP tied up in "Athletics" and "A's" to expect that name to be abandoned.

Or maybe the "California A's" since the Angels have given up on that geographic identifier.

Can Mariano Rivera's number be retired?

bay A's of California in Freemont.

All-Stars Game in San Francisco?

San Jose Athletics. San Jose Giants. Next two-team town!

Rod carew, george brett, or tony gwynn?

OMG, not another one of those!!! What's going to happen when they play against the Angels?? There won't be enough room on the ticket to print the names of both teams, LOL.
