Best world series you've ever seen?
Question:What do you believe is the best world series you've ever seen that didn't involve the team that you root for?
Answers:
Two worst-to-first storybook teams taking it all the way into extra innings in Game 7 ... whoosh, that one was a screamer, from the first pitch of Game 1 through the last play of the Series. (And, though it only matters in retrospect, we were witnessing the rise of an incredible Braves dynasty.)
2004 leads by a mile in personal satisfaction, even though it was lacking in competitive drama -- the Cards simply got punked the whole way.
The best world series i have ever seen was the 2001 Series. Yankees vs. Diamondback, they werent my favorite teams, but Luis Gonzalez's single off Mariano was amazing.
1975 Red Sox, Reds 7 games of true drama
How can i set up a target in my yard to help with my pitching. Something that will stand up.?
1991 - Twins over the Braves.Game 6 ends on a walk-off HR by Kirby Puckett (RIP) in the 11th inning.
Game 7 was a 0-0 tie until the 10th inning. Gene Larkin won the game with an RBI single in the bottom of the 10th, and Series MVP Jack Morris pitched all 10 innings for the shutout win.
Is a baseball card that is blank on the back worth anything?
gotta go with 74 red sox vs. reds.2001d-backs yankees great series we all know how it ended and i was at game 6
1997 marlins indians was real good also
1991 was awesome braves twins thats was great jack morris enough said
Who threw MLB's last perfect game, and when did it happen?
1975 Red Sox - RedsGame 6 is still the greatest baseball game ever played.
2004 Red Sox - Cardinals
The Curse ended in my lifetime and I'n not a Red Sox fan!
2001 Yankees - Diamondbacks
9/11 loomed over this series like a vulture. If the Yankees had won this series, I would have belived in divine intervention. What about Randy Johnson pitching in relief?
Who is the dirtiest Baseball player ever?
1993 world series -Joe Carter hit a walkoff three run homerun in Game 6 as the Blue Jays beat the Phillies in Toronto.Rules for baseball games during rain?

Jorge Posada in ESPN Commerical?
2005 White Sox Verse Huston, game 3. In the thirteenth inning White Sox fans across the world's worst fear was happening, the whole bullpen was used up, and that destroyer of well pitched games was the only pitcher left. Millions of White Sox fans' screams of terror could be heard, when White Sox Relief Pitcher and game blower Dámaso Marte took the mound. We cried, "No, it's impossible! We are going to lose this game and the rest of the series is going to go to the Astros!" But what happened that day could be described by some as a miracle and by others a freak coincidence, Marte pitched a dam good inning and did not give up a single god dammed run.
Then, a guy who I could not tell you at the time if he even played on the team, Jeff Blum, in the next inning hits a two run homerun and takes the lead at the top of the fourteenth for the White Sox. At the bottom of the inning White Sox Ace Mark Buehrle saves the game and White Sox fans finally come to the conclusion. We will not only win the world series after 80 years, but will also sweep Huston.
Oh and the game is also legendary because we came back from a 4-0 deficet with 5 runs in the fifth and it was the longest game by time in World series history.
Other Series notables:
Scott Podsednik's RARE walk off homerun to win a World Series game in game two for the White Sox.
Boby Jenks becoming one of the only rookies to save a World Series game in game one.
The pitcher's duel with Freddy Garcia pitching a 1-0 victory and Bobby Jenks becoming the FIRST ROOKIE ever to get two saves in a world series in game 4.
Dam right it was my most memorable and dam right I'm from Chicago. The city went nuts for that victory. Well the South side of the city did...
So yeah, that was the best world series I ever saw. It is a subjective question anyways, so there is no wrong answer.
the 1986 World Series was amazing. Game 6 had the Redsox one pitch away from winning the World Series. A ground ball through Bill Buckner's legs for an error, and the Met's would go on to rally for I believe it was 3 runs to win game 6. And then they finished off the Red Sox in Game 7. But my personal favorite is the Dodger's beating the A's in 1988. But the Dodgers are my favorite team, so it doesn't qualify.
Honestly, who gives the best baseball answers on sports1234.com ?
Hands down Cliff Johnson's 77' and 78' back to back World Championships.with the Yankees. The memorabilia is the most sought after today at trade shows and auctions. If a pitched ball hits the ground, then hits the batter what's the ruling?
Either 1997,Indians and Marlins or 2001,Dimondbacks and Yankees.1997-The Indians and Marlins fought back and forth game after game with the Marlins winning all of the odd numbered games while the Indians won the even.During game 7 it appeared the Indians were going to close it out and bring home the trophy. However Mosies led off the bottom 9th with a single ,off of Jose Mesa. Mesa retired the next batter but Charles Johnson came up and laced a single into right with advanced Alou to third base.Craig Counsell came up and hit a sac fly to right field. The tenth was scorless as well as the top of the 11th. However in the bottom of the 11th the Marlins struck. The inning was lead off by a single an dthen followed with an error by Indians 2nd baseman Tony Fernandez. An intentional walk loaded the bases followed by a force play at home plate. Edgar Renteria came up and hit a single up the middle off of Charels Nagy's glove and brought Miami the Championship.(Imagine how painful it is for me to tell you this)
2001-This would be a sereis decided by home field advantage as the home team took every game in the series. The Dimondbacks won games 1,2,6,7 while the Yankees took games 3,4,5.Game 7 was scorless until the 6th when Arizona struck first blood. New York responded with runs in the top of the 7th and 8th. Mark Grace lead off the bottom of the 9th with a single to center, off of Mariano Rivera. An errant throw by Rivera let runners on 1st and 2nd with no outs,Jay Ell bunted but Rivera threw out pinch runner David Dellucci and third.Tony womack came up and drove a double down the line to even the score at 2.With Bell on 3rd base Luis Gonzoleaz hit a bloop single over Jeters head to win the game.
These games show that the score doesnt have to be 9-8 to be exciting.
How much is this baseball worth?
2004 Red Sox - CardinalsWatching the Sox comeback from a 3 game hole against the Yankees then go on to win the series was very emotional.
I'm not even a Red Sox fan but I was gluedto the TV for every pitch. I kept telling everyone at work, "I believe, do you?"
To watch an entire city, generations of fans, 5 year olds to 95 years old, everyone was so happy...
That alone got me back into (enjoying) the game.

I've never really enjoyed a world series. They're alway played in friggin' October. they should move it to August. What games have you circled on you calendar as must see games this year?
1991 Twins vs. Braves. Far and away the best World Series played. Two worst-to-first teams, virtually every game decided by one or two runs, a lot of memorable moments. And the best Game 7 in history.1986 Mets vs. Red Sox. This is the first Series I can remember, and the one that got me interested in baseball. I credit (or blame) it for beginning my obsession with the sport
Why do you think the NY mets will or will not win the world series in 2007?
