It was an amphetamines test...which really is not a big deal, so no one really cares...besides, that stuff was ok to use just a few years ago, and for all we know he could have failed the test from something he ate...I do know this; steroids cannot make the hand-eye coordination he has...if someone like Juan Pierre had his ability, he'd be hitting HR's too...just not as much, of courseWhere did the term "platinum sombrero" come from?

The drug test everyone speaks of is for steroids. If amphetamines were banned, Bonds would've been suspended and heavily fined. But that wasn't the big issue. The issue was if he tested positive for that, then what about steroids? Did he have an undetectable substance of steroids or not? Did he find a way to bypass the system? Or did he just test positive for this and didn't take anything else. So when people say he didn't test positive for a "drug" test, everyone for the most part thinks about steroids.Who will win the subway series this week end and why.?

Greenies werent such a big deal in baseball and it wasnt banned until 2003 (or so) Amphetamines were around baseball for A LONG TIME. Even past players (before the 90's) said that many players were using them. I guarantee you that there were many more players that failed the amphetamines test, but the public just doenst know about it BECAUSE THE FIRST OFFENSE IS SUPPOSED TO BE KEPT PRIVATE.What Bonds fans were referring to when they said that he has never failed a test in his life, they were talking about steroids. He is being investigated for...not greenies. The prosecutors arent accusing him for taking amphetamines.
