Who would you rather see break the all time home run record?
Question:It is appearant that Barry Bonds will break the home run record this year. A-Rod at age 31 will reach 500 or more homers this year. I think he is gonna have well over 800 homers when he retires. Of any player current of former who would you have wanted to see break the all time home run record. My vote would have went to Griffy Jr.

Everyone is anti-Bonds. Yes, I agree, he'll break the record. But as you stated, A-Rod will be the ONE. He is a great embassador of the game, and he'll do it without the criticism Bonds generates. It's unfortunate Bonds will not be widely accepted as the Home-Run King, but it will be short lived anyway. I witnessed Barry's career as a life long Mets fan. When he was with the Pirates, I hated him---he was great. He was prolific because he had power, speed, and was a gold glove left fielder. Now, just great power, but as he is demonstating to the public currently, he can still play! To all the "nay-sayers" including Hammering Hank (who would have hit 800 homers in this day and age), in the immortal words of the 70's Bad News Bears (Tanner)---LET THEM PLAY!NY Yankees Riddle-Who are my favorite players...will give best answer to first and correct person?
i think Barry Bonds deserves to break the record and not be critcised by people who do not know for sure if he had done any illegal steroids. It's just another way to taint someone's life's work.Who is the best venezuelan short stop?
I think A-Rod. He's well on his way, is probably the best hitter in baseball, and seems like an actual good guy.I would've loved to see Griffey break the home run record. Can't have another person with more class. I'm pretty sure Hank Aaron will show up if it Griffey is about to break it. Unfortuately, injuries killed any shot of him coming close to the record.
Will Giants phenom Tim Lincecum be a factor this year?
A-Rod..Will the tigers make it back to the fall classic this year?
I'd prefer to see anyone who doen't CHEAT break the record.Bonds is a Cheater.
He has tainted every thing he ever did by juicing and then LYING about it.
Griffey could've done it had he stayed healthy.
Now- It'll be A-rod who will (hopefully) wipe the embarrassment of steroids from MLB's record books.
Especially if A-Rod opts out and resigns with a teamwho has a smaller ballpark that fits his stroke.
if he had a park like Bonds has- he'd have hit more this season than he already has!
And just for the record- those of you who believe Bonds didn't cheat, ask yourself this:
If he is innocent, why has he stonewalled? Why hasn't he explained it all in a more convincing way? Why does he hedge, lie and try to discredit everyone- including the woman he was CHEATING ON HIS WIFE WITH who has taped phone calls and conversations where he discusses steroid use?
Are we really to believe this obsessive control freak (he has admitted he is) had NO IDEA what he was ingesting?
The answer is easy:
Occum's Razor.
Albert Pujols. An amazing talent, not a big vrybaby like A-rod, doens't juice like Bonds, well loved in his city and across the nation, gives back to the community, can hit for average and field. Humble person despite all he can do. Not only the best player in the game, but one of the better guys. And he's only 27.

ryan howard- go philliesGriffey is easily my first choice. If he could still do it, that would be the most amazing thing in sports history.
Do you expect an NBA championship out of Lebron James?
Both A-Rod and Pujols are way ahead of Bonds at the same age Bonds was during is career. If either or both can stay healthy they will break the record.

After Bonds breaks it A-Rod will break it... Then Puljos will, then Howard will, then some kid that is in College today will, then some kid in High School today will and so on... As the ball parks (ex. Petco) keep getting smaller and smaller and HGH or the new drug of the day enables Ballplayers to get bigger bigger... we will see the requirement for the HOF (I know it is not real) move up to 600 HR's. I think A-Rod all the way at least he doesn't have to cheat!!!!!What former Mississippi State Bulldogs and LSU Tigers are now in the MLB as starters or stars?
i'd have to say griffey jr also. such a great natural athlete, its unfortunate his hamstrings are holding on by titanium pins. in the late 90's, while mcguire, sosa, and bonds were juicing up and hitting 60hrs a season, imo, griffey looked like he was the one guy that stayed the same size. remember how big luis gonzalez was when he hit 55 hrs? i've heard that bond's cap size was 7 1/2 in the early 90's when he was with pittsburgh and now its over 9''. if there is an athlete that deserves an honorable record, it should be a someone that's humble and respects the game like griffey. bonds was a great player, no doubt about it, he prolly could have broken the record w/out steroids, prolly would've taken him longer to do, but the fact is that he did and its unjustifiable. hank aaron must agree so. hopefully once bonds breaks it, pujols or a-rod will break it soon after because its a disgrace to have bond's name on that tileHow did the Brooklyn dodgers get their name??
Ryan Howard!Ever notice that the Yankees vs Red Sox debate here sometimes..?
Andruw JonesI wish it could have been Ken Griffey Jr. It is too early to say about some of the young stars in the game right now such as Ryan Howard.
Why do pitchers sit alone when they r throwing a no hitter?
I would rather see anyone not named Barry Bonds at the top of the list. Whether it be A-Rod, Pujols, or whoever.A-Rod!
Go Yanks!
