Do you believe Ken Griffey Jr.'s recent decline is due to steroid use?
Question:In one of my fantasy baseball leagues, another manager suggested that Griffey is as likely a suspect as Bonds given his sharp decline once he arrived in Cincy. However, I personally believe that though his numbers dropped significantly, that alone is not indicative of steroid abuse. The most likely suspects all bulked up significantly in a very short amount of time. And this generally occurred late in their careers. Griff has always been lean and spent extended stints on the DL, something HGH users have avoided thanks to that hormone's ability to help players bounce back from injury.
Basically, though I recognize Griffey came up in an era over which we now see a dark cloud of 'roid suspicion looming, I cannot accept that his late career decline is due to steroids alone. And I just wanted to know what others thought...

Besides the Yankees, which team do you think has the best infield?
In this era, you can't really put it past anyone, but I refuse to believe that about Griffey. His decline is mainly due to the fact that every year since 1998, he's been injured for a signifigant amount of time. When you have injuries to your legs, it affects your batting, especially your power, because your legs give you the balance and strength to hit the ball out.his injuries since returning to his hometown have been the real cause. Plus, he's been doing well this year.

Aging and injuries have taken their tollWhere would you rank Rich Harden as a starting pitcher in the AL?
As a cynic, I can't completely ignore the idea. However, if Griffey had been juicing, wouldn't he have NOT gotten hurt so much? I hear all the time that the drugs can help prevent injury and speed up recoveries. The other option could be that he did use them in the past, then realized the dangers of it and stopped? Taking roids and then stopping could explain the tons of injuries. Why would he suddenly stop at the prime of his career in that case? If he risked diminishing a giant career for the sake of his own personal well being, then good for him. This is all "what if" stuff of course, some interesting speculation. Sadly, I think the truth is that he is one of those unlucky athletes like Grant Hill. When a player does great he is accused of steroid use, and now an idiot like you is going to start accusing aging, declining players of steroid use. Your mother must have used drugs when she was pregnant with you because you came out with issues.Last switch-hitter to win the AL MVP award?

Is the career of Mark Prior over?
No. Simply put, if he is indecline it will be due to the fact that he is getting OLD! Period. Also, if Griff was using HGH, don't you think he would have been hurt less?More Questions & Answers...
