Question:Do you think the Yankees will be one of the front runners to land Johan Santana in a few years when he becomes a free agent? By then, Phil Hughes will probably be pitching in the majors and Chien Ming Wang will be much improved.

The Yankees are pretty explicit about spending money as needed to fill specific roles. If Santana is available and still the rock star he is today, you bet they will make a run for him. Not a chance!! Twins don't resign Tori after this year. Free up some money with his contract gone as well as Radke's gone and sign both Santana and Nathan to long term deals by the end of the year. Starting lineup for the new stadium in 2010 would include Mauer by that time a two time batting champion, Mauer a former MVP who is a front runner every year, Santana, a 4 time Cy Young winner by that time and Liriano, a two time Cy Young winner ( He wins the two years Santana Didn't). So even if this isn't how it goes, I am a twins fan and I can dream.
