Softball..?

Question:I have a softball game in about 20 minutes, and I was wondering (for the shortstop position) how you throw the ball faster and more accurately. The team we are playing is fast, and I'm worried that I won't get any throws to the base in time. I know stepping, pointing, and throwing works, but does anyone have any other tip for throwing faster and more accurately?

Answers:

How many times in the history of MLB has a team hit back to back to back homeruns( 3 homeruns in a row)?

Well, in 20 minutes its quiet hard to tell u wat to do..I mean the real secret is practice,practice,practice..
After u read this tip, go practice with ur team..

However what u must remember is :
1. Be patient when targeting the best shortstop coz sometimes when we tend to get too excited when u get the ball,u throw either way high or pointlessly.. so be calm

2. The way u hold the ball - Keep it firm in ur hands(palm touching whole ball-feel the ball) and when u target - u target the catcher or whoever gloves and make sure the they know ur throwing to em..
3. Be tough and look tough.. as if u wanna throw the ball at the running person...but then u throw at the bases..(though ive done that and the person lost )
4. Give the throw a back leg .. u know like those pitchers..
Yeah...it will go fast..

Most important is GRIP of ball, TARGET to throw, THRUST of throw and FOCUS on target to throw..
SHould be okay..HOPE U guys win!

Did Anybody In Your Family Play Baseball in the Service During WWII?

I play varsity softball, its my second year, and i have a hard throw and i do use all the techniques you said and something else. I feel as though if you step correctly go to make your throw and pump the hardest when youre at the peak of your throw both your control and speed will increase. I learned this last year when i was told i was throwing wrong because i did half side arm half normal. My throw was 10X better, im now starting catcher. Good luck, hope that helped.

Is the yankees going to be played or not ?

make sure your shoulders are facing your target before you throw to so it will be more accurate

Twins Fans. How do you feel about your new stadium?

softball has a close infield...try cheating a little and step in an extra 5 or 6 feet this will give you an extra second or two.and you also have to always be on your toes..good luck

Is Bob Uecker better looking than Mel Allen?

May be a little late for todays game, but practice getting rid of the ball faster...Take one step towards first, then let it rip! If your right handed, take your glove and point towards 1.st when you release the ball. Good luck!

I need a fun name for my softball team. Any ideas?

look in the exact position that your throwing the ball to, concentrate, take your time (if you rush it your form can screw up), point, bring ball to EAR, relax and release. Make SURE you follow through!

tip: on follow through try to "scratch your opposite knee". it sounds wierd but it's true, and it works. make sure you don't wrap your arm around your opposite shoulder, thats bad.
