I am a die hard fan of Atlanta. :]But I think it's too early to tell.
If they have few people put on the DL, and keep up the playing, then they should do very well.
But it's too early too tell. I mean they started off fairly well last year, and had a horrible June which had to take a miracle to recover from.
You never know what could happen from now till September.

noIt's tough to say this early on. Atlanta historically doesn't do well in the early goings, but they've gotten off to a pretty good run this year. If I recall, they went 5-1 this year for the first time since 95 when they won it all.
Cox is a seasoned manager and they have some good talent on that team. They are in the process of being sold, so that could inhibit some moves in midseason. If they can stay healthy and Cox/Schuerholtz are allowed to keep making the moves they have for the last 16 years, they should have a good shot at it.

Yes with there pitching and offense they difinity have a chance at it.At this point in the season any team can get into the playoffs. It's all about staying healthy and keeping up with the other teams in your league. At the moment, Atlanta is doing just that.
I know there are alot of games, and it's hard to stay healthy, but I think that if everyone stays healthy, and Smoltz and Hudson keep pitching like they have been (even if Smoltz did lose that heartbreaker to the Nats the other day), I believe that the bats will come to life, and the Braves will make the playoffs.

As a lifelong Braves fan, I hope so!
But it is too early to say at this point. I think that the bullpen is obviously improved over last year which is good. The depth in the pitching rotation is solid (just gotta stay healthy) and the lineup may not be as flashy as, say...the Mets or the Phillies, but they are good enough to get the job done.
I think one of the keys is of course to stay healthy. Primarily Chipper Jones. If he can play 130-140 games minimum, that would help considerably.
Overall I think the NL East will be very tight this year between the Braves, Phillies, Mets, and Marlins.

Absolutely. The Braves have been hitting the cover off the ball and they finally have a complete bullpen. The additions of Mike Gonzalez and Rafael Soriano have really solidified a bullpen that struggled last season, while Bob Wickman has provided the Braves with a solid closer. Offensively, Andruw Jones is just getting warm, while McCann and Francouer look like they are gonna have good years. If Chipper can stay healthy, the offense will be amazing. It's all about the pitching...if the young guys pitch well it will be a good year. If they flop it will be a long year. I expect great things from Smoltz and a bounceback year from Hudeson but it all rides on Chuck James and Kyle Davies pitching well. If they both step up and pitch like they are capable the Braves will give the Mets a run for the division title, if they don't it'll be the continuation of the streak of non-division winners they started last year.Is Jorge Posada a Hall of Famer?
The Mets will win the N.L. East, but I think the Braves will win the wildcard because of how bad the N.L. East teams are (other than the Mets). Yes I do. They are a lot better than anyone gives them credit for. They easily have the best pitching in their division. Their hitting is underrated as well. They may win the NL East.How come on all of the Ichiro Suzuki baseball cards, it never says his last name?
