What do you think about World Series games being scheduled for November?
Question:I think the baseball season is way too long already. The wild card round diluted the value of many things - pennant races, first place, the postseason.
I also heard that Scott Boras wants to play nine World Series games. I pity young fans who didn't have the chance to see baseball postseasons that didn't go on for weeks and weeks.

In head to head leagues with 2 divisions, do the top 3 teams from each division make the playoffs?
The wild card has not diluted the pennant races.. do you even watch baseball? The AL central will have a second place team with a better record than anyone in the AL West with an unbalanced schedule (which means you play more games within your division). The wild card is a good idea because the Giants in the early 90's won over a 100 games and didnt make the playoffs! That should not happen.Doesn't Tom Brady look good in a Yankees cap?
in november. cool if the red sox are in it i'll could get tickets for my birthday.yea... horrible idea its already 7 months...we dont need an 8th
who cares as long as it isnt snowed out like the first few weeks of this season
Does Derek Jeter sign autographs through the mail either to his house or with the Yankees?
i dont like the fact of a bigger series but maybe more teams more rounds like the nfl with 2 teams with byes in the first round.I'm almost 14 should I throw a pitch with movement?
I don't think its that big of a deal. The World Series will on be played in November if it goes to 7 games, and then it will be on Nov. 1st. So its not like they're playing the whole month of November. What two hitters won back to back triple crowns?
I think the baseball season should be shortenedWill the Red Sox complete the sweep of the Yankees?
Scott Boras isn't nearly as smart as he thinks he is. A nine game series is ridiculous.unless the regular season is shortened to 154 games. That won't happen. 8 fewer games on the schedule translates to what? 120 total games lost league-wide? That's a lot of tickets not sold and commercials not aired. For what? Two extra post season games?Never happen.
Where has Kwith hernandez been in th SNY mets game telecast the past few weeks?
boras is just some ** agent he has no say so in making the playoffs nine game series. only if there is a game 7 this year, will we see baseball in november. i like the wild card now, because we have more teams now that ever. back when only 4 teams total got into the playoffs, there were far fewer teams.Declining of black players of baseball why does it matter?
It's terrible! For 30 years the world series has been played too late in the year, and the games have been played too late at night. This is the reason an entire generation of fans have become disinterested, allowing the NFL to overtake MLB as the most popular pro sport. What teams have the most MLB wins since 1990 (top ten)?
I agree with eric, if the BoSox are in it I'm there and not complaining. However, I do agree that the young fans are missing out on what old school baseball was about, before it became corporations buying out money hungry no loyalty havin' pawns such as the Yankees. Let alone the fact that players used to play for the love of the game.As far as the original question, there are going to be a lot of pissed off fans who follow both baseball and football, having to t-vo or choose between what kind of game to watch. Let alone the Good ol' Thanksgiving tradition; kickin' it in the Lazyboy not caring about whether or not your good clothes get wrinkled with a piece of pie and a drink watchin' the football game. That's f'ed up.
I am a pitcher looking for a tryout?
I think the regular season is too long. When they came up with the wild card round I thought they should have shortened the regular season to 154 games. Baseball should be over before Halloween. I guess they are just trying to steal a little bit of thunder from football. Not gonna happen!Who hit the first ever home run?
The wild card was one of baseball's best ideas in years. Nothing got diluted at all. If anything it helped the game tremendously. The number of baseball fans have almost tripled since they started doing the wild card.
Fans were so disappointed and dejected when their second place team ( with a better record) was better than the other 1st place team from the other division and didn't get to play for the pennant. It made no sense. Baseball did the right thing.
As for the world series being played in November there's not much we can do but watch.
How many total days (cumulative) above .500 have the pittsburgh Pirates been since May, 21, 1994?
I don't particularly care for the move, what happens now if say Detroit or Boston makes the world series, and the opponent is the New York Mets? I think if you push the post season back even further, it only increases the chances of weather that's at the very least inclement for prime baseball conditions, especially when teams from northern cities with outdoor venues are involved. We all ready saw this in last year's world series in both Detroit and St. Louis where inclement weather affected the games.
I think it's good for baseball to have wildcard teams, but since both the NL and the AL have gone from two divisions to three divisions, I believe that the end result of when the world series is played has been pushed back far enough.
Who will get more saves for the Rangers, Eric Gagne or Akinori Otsuka?
I hope it's the Red Sox-Cubs.There'd
be a rush for fur lined jockstraps no matter where the games were playe.
Having the World Series in November is terrible okay if the Yankees are playing it's not like I'm refusing to watch it's just pro sports need to know their seasons.
On top of that why cant they play a day game on Saturday afternoon? Doesn't MLB understand the die hard college football fan is never going to watch baseball anyways especially in the south.
The wild card was not a bad idea the problem was the season needs to be shortened by at least 15 games, but $$$ talks and it will never happen.
On top of that contract the Devil Rays and Marlins and nobody will mind except the player agents and Scott Boras who just wants more $$$$$ for his players.
