How did Mark Ellis not win the Gold Glove last year?
Question:In 1,070 innings he made 2 errors at 2nd Base for an incredible .99685 fielding percentage. That sets the record for higest fielding percentage by a second baseman and yet he didn't win the gold glove?
Instead they gave it to Mark Grudzielanek who played in only 41 more innigns than Ellis and made 4 errors

I think Ellis should have won the award, too. But in his defense Grudz. is a good second baseman, too, and defense is not only who makes the least errors. Another thing that a lot of people say is that Ellis didn't have a good year with the bat and that effected his chances at the gold glove, although it shouldn't.
