Right now, the Boston Red Sox, they have the best rotation, Schilling has comeback from after a rocky year last year, Beckett has the bets record in baseball, Dice-K has been a qulaity pitcher and gets better with every start, Wakefield has been very good all year and has a low ERA, and the 5 starter Tavarez has given the Sox a few good starts and will soon be replaced by Lester who will be very good. Factor in that they have a strong line up with Ramirez, Ortiz, Lowell is hitting very good, Lugo has had some clutch hits, Youk has been a great #2, the whole line up gets hits when they need to and scores a good amount of runs. Then look at the bullpen, Donnelly and Romero has both been throwing great, Okajima has been lights out and has not given up a run in almost 18 innings, and then you have Papelbon as a closer is one of the best in the league. The Red Sox have the best record in baseball and it is because they are an all around team, right now they are the best team in baseball.Which baseball team is the best?

Right now i'd say the Tigers are the best team - they are stacked top to bottom - as long as their pitching stays decent they will be tough.

I think the Tigers are the best team.They are a young team who scooped up some undiscovered talent, and they work well together.
They finally got motivated and found the right comination of players.
The pitching staff is amazing, and if you look at the number of hits and runs they have, that should be enough proof!

The Tigers, If Zumaya and Rogers were healthy, i believe the tigers would be winning alot more. And they are still in the lead in the central division. They have an mvp candidate in Magglio Ordonez, and Gary Sheffield is waking up. Detroit has a 1 game lead in front of cleveland and there not even playing the best that they can do.Milwaukee is good, but i think that they will not be able to keep up what there doing all year. The Red Sox look like the most balanced team with great pitching and great hitting. But I think the Braves are truly the best team... great hitting, great bullpen and good starting pitching. I think the Braves will run into to more hurdles this year and that might hold them back... Injuries and tougher schedules (divisional and interleague). And as much as I hate to admit it, I think the Mets are about equal with the Braves, but maybe not as good pitching, but the same hard schedule. One things for sure... the Yankees SUCK this year.
