Why so many bad teams?

Question:With the Yankees, Cubs and Cardinals all sucking - and only the NL West and AL Central showing many winning teams, why are there so many bad teams in baseball this year?

Answers:

What would you do if...?

Maybe it is chemistry. I used to laugh at chemistry, but when I look at the teams that have won the last few years - they seem to be a complete unit. I look at New York, and they seem like a bunch of talented guys. But not a team. Same with the Cubs. Teams with a ton of free agents just do not seem to jell as well as those teams that either have been around each other for a while, or those that have a lot of talent through their own farm system.

In baseball, why do they call them innings?

I think the teams are not neccesarily bad, its just the league is so competitive right now. The Cubs and Cardinals and Yankees have great talent, its just the teams they field just aren't as competitive as the other teams in MLB.

I don't think the St. Louis Cardinals got their Championship rings at the home opener did they?

I'm glad to see the Yankees spending all this money and doing like garbage. Maybe this will show them chemistry and teamwork matter not just having a bunch of all stars on one team.

Never mind who you would like to see in the World Series, but just answer which teams do you think...?

parity!! ever hear of the word? and it is tooo early to say that kind of crap! why are so many dummies who know nothing about baseball?

To my fellow umpires.?

Its just a turn back in that direction. More wins are going to fewer teams this year. The benefit to that is we may actually get a few teams giving up some good players this year at the trade deadline!

Generally when all the teams are in contention, nobody wants to give up any big named guys to another team. With a lot of teams that were great sucking wind, we will see a larger number of good players changing hands. I hope.

pitching those winning teams have pitching.

Yankees..?

Well, right now those teams may be doing bad, but baseball has a long season. It's way too soon to tell how the teams are really doing. Plus, there is usually a big change after the All-Star break. But a big reason right now is pitching.
