Brewer's have the best pitching staff in the league...I expect them to stay towards the top of the standings all year long.Who has the longest active hit streak in baseball?
It would appear that way.Daisuke is playing tomorrow. How do u think he'll go?
REDS and Cubs both are 1-1 You forgot about it.Baseball sweatbands with numbers?
No you're not hallucinating. And it is still very early in the season for you to be paranoid.Does anyone know derek jeters 2007 at bat music?
True. I've noticed that as well. But it's really just is too early to make any judgements. Wait about a month into the season... then start to worry. Will Pete Rose get into the Hall of Fame before or after Barry Bonds? Will Pete Rose ever get in?
Last year started like this also. But reality sat in with Pittsburgh and Milwaukee so they will collapse. St. Louis always gets off to a rocky start. If you are at bat when a passed ball scores a man from third base, do you get the RBI?
I dont know about upside down...I think at the end it's going to be something like this:
St. Louis
Milwaukee
Chicago
Cincinnatti
Houston
Pittsburgh
Are you guys happy that the yankees are in last place?
The thing is with the NL Central this year you can't EXPECT anything. Almost every team has a chance because every team has flaws. The Cardinals are a very old team with a stud ace and Wainwright in the rotation and then 3 guys that used to be good or never prooved anything. Kip Wells had a few ok years but nothing dominant. Braedan Looper is a converted closer who wasn't even dominant as a closer. Then Isringhausen is also getting old. They are a good team but they aren't as dominant as they once were.
Houston is putting together a young good offense. With Lee and Berkman they have very solid power. Luke Scott and Chris Burke are young guys with some great upside in my opinion. Pitching wise Oswalt is one of the best after that there is no guarentees right now. Jennings should put up good numbers though. Would be a major boost to get Clemens back.
Chicago spent a lot of money on offense and put together a great offensive team. Defensively there outfield has something to be desired which could hurt. I personally think their SP is down right not good! Zambrano is a bonafied #1 but then who? Marquis and Lilly are average at best and Rich Hill could turn out to be decent. Wade Miller was one of my favorite pitchers when he was with Houston but what does he have left after all the injuries? Side note: Kerry Wood will be a dominant closer IF he get's the chance.
The Reds I feel is underrated. I'm not saying that they will make the World Series or anything but they have a solid offense with Freel,Dunn,Phillips,Encarnacio... and Griff. A pretty darn good 1-2 punch and the bullpen should work once Majewski Guardado and Bray are healthy. Harang is grossly underrated after leading the NL in IP, K and tied for the lead in Wins.
Milwaukee has the chance if everyone plays to their ability to win this division easily if they play to there "projected" talent level. The line-up is full of young guys that can hit and the pitching staff led by Sheets and Capuano could be dangerous.
Pittsburgh is very young and will struggle this year. They should be fine in the years to come though. I will say if Duke comes back to form and Snell and a few others step up they could cause some problems.
So like I said anyone really has a chance. I think it will be
1. Milwaukee
2. Chicago
3. Cincinnati
4. St. Louis
5. Houston
6. Pittsburgh
Once again just my thoughts and it could easily be different. I'm not saying nobody doesn't have a chance.
Who was the first player to steal 500 bases and hit 200 home runs?
no. The Cardinals lost a lot of their pitching staff from last season and they only won 82 games last year anyway.Houston has a great offense but their pitching is aslo suspect. Milwaukee has great pitching but terrible defense. The Pirates have a talented pitching staff but an average offense. I expect the Cubs to wn the division and the Reds to stink up the division.
i agree with answer no. 2
What is Derek Jeters entrance song?
By my calculation, this is the first time the Pirates have been 3 games over .500 since April 18, 2004.Do the Brewers and Playoffs mix?
I know! That series that the Cards had with the Mets was embarrassing! They got outscored 20-2! I hope the Cards are just rusty. Hopefully, the Cards can redeem themselves this weekend at Houston.Go Cards!!!
Whos going to win the NL East and why?
Only insofar as the Pirates will not stay there and the Astros and Cards are not that bad.Is there anyone here on sports1234.com that.?
Why aren't the Cincinnati Reds listed! They are 2-1 also!More Questions & Answers...
