What are some reasons for being late on the ball?

Question:my swing is fine i think its like when i start my swing and how do i start it quicker

I would like to know what they do with broken bats at a MLB game.?

You need to get your timing down, there are a few ways i used to help that when i was late consistently, when your on deck practice timing the pitch and making sure your front foot is down right when the pitcher lets go, if you can get your front foot down in time then you will be in a good position to hit. Nothing can happen until you get your front foot down, so front foot down early= more time to see the ball. You can also work on this in a batting cage or even on the tee, by just planting the front foot early and really over emphasize it so it will be burned into your muscle memory. When your playing in a game your swing is what you worked on in practice, its very difficult to make adjustments in the middle of a game, so work hard in practice and it will eventully pay off.

Does Prince Fielder have 'man boobs'?

Your eyes.

Your swinging late because you may not see the ball well and stay back to long.

Also, your bat may be too heavy.
Try using a lighter bat. That will speed up your swing.

Also, some people who struggle...go to the plate and start thinking too much about what they are gonna do. Kinda like what happened to ARod last year.

Do what I do. Go up to the plate and keep it simple.
Don't listen to what everyone is telling you. It'll drive you mad.

Just keep it simple. SEE THE BALL, HIT THE BALL.
See the ball, start your leg kick (aka your timing) and swing the bat...follow through and drive the ball.

See it, Hit it!

How much is a tom glavine 1991baseball card worth?

Could be because of a couple of reasons.

1- Slow bat speed, too heavy of a bat. You could be starting your swing on time, but because of the heaviness of the bat you are late.

2- You have the bat up too high. If you start with the bat up over your head or arms straight up, then you are wasting time because, when you start your swing, you have to bring the bat down and then swing it.

3- Maybe, you aren't seeing the ball well. This usually comes and goes with streaks, but when you aren't seeing the ball well, you start your swing too late because you are picking up the ball late, so your reaction is delayed. Take some soft toss, go to the batting cages, and once you get some hits or good contact, it should go away.

Good luck with the swing.

Are some of you haters really rooting for A-Rod to surpass the Babe?

Choke up on the bat. Increases bat speed big time. Try using a donut or a weight on your bat before going up. Makes a difference.

Washington Nationals!?

Take advantage of your first at bat against a pitcher and focus on his release and movement. Seeing a pitcher for the first time is tough, but once you get his release and the ball to catcher somewhat figured, just remember to keep a fluid swing.
