What's the connection of baseball to chicago culture?

Question:In another words what impact does baseball in Chicago have on Chicago's communities and on other cultural communities.

Answers:

Do you think the milwaukee brewers will win the world series?

Letsgopitt is a fool. Chicago lives and dies with their teams. You are either a Cubs or Sox fan, not both. The Sox are the blue collar team, on the tough South Side. The Cubs are the loveable losers, but they sell out consistently and being a Cubs' fan is practically a religion. Chicago sports fans are masochists to a point, but they are loyal and show up through good times or bad. It is kind of like comparing the top 3 largest cities. NY is rude, LA is there to be seen, and Chicago IS the midwest - good people, easily the friendliest big city in the country. Cubs fans are more likely to take in the culture of the city, but the Sox fans are a blast to sit around with, having a beer, and talking sports. Both are extremely knowledgeable.

Hope that helps!
