I am 15 years old leftey that plays for my hs baseball team what is average speed for a 15 year old?
Question:well as i said im 15 years old, im a lefty that paly for my high school and iv been told i can be somthing special. I was wondering where i compare with other people my age are the nation or world. My fastball tops out any where from 79-82 i have a change up that looks like it going to be hurled but it drops in at 61 and i have 11-5 curveball. i can throw all of them for strikes. and i can throw around 113 pitches with out going flat. I was also wondering how hard i should throw for my size. im about 5'9 149.

good stuff dude, keep it up. but one word of advice i would like to give you is don't get cocky or overconfident. always try to improve your abilities because there will always be someone trying to take your spot, no matter what level of ball you are playing.Let's stick with short stops, Jose Reyes or Derek Jeter?

I coach baseball. At 15 and your size, everything is where it should be. If you should happen to grow a couple of inches (along with the added weight of those couple of inches) and your arm matures, you should be able to add 5-10 mph on that fastball. 113 pitches is alot for someone who is still growing. If you keep pitching 113 pitches every game, at the age of 15, you won't have to worry about the future because you'll blow your arm out. Keep it around 90-100 to save your arm. For Division I scholarship u need to be throwin almost mid 80's which your almost there BTW good job and u need to have a Stellar Change and a Good CurveIm 14 throw 74-76 amazing change and so so curve

you've got great velocity. your change is a great complement to your fastball. Your curve is probably nasty. I don't know many 15 year old that can pitch like this. As long as you don't over throw and as long as you don't use your curve too much, you should be fine. Throwing a curve a lot will kill your elbow early and that's gonna lead to Tommy John Surgery.I am a pitcher and I just was wondering how u throw a gyro ball?
I've clocked several 15-year olds in the high eighties. Average is the high sixties. In your case, you're above where I would consider a lefty effective. More important than your velocity is your pitch selection, the movement of your pitches and your placement. Clearly, you want to advance. The most important 20-80 stat in my opinion is make-up. Yes, scouts look carefully at your character, passion for the game, work ethic, coachability and teammanship. i know for school ball around your (and my) age, the pitchers generally throw mid 70s to high 70s. so yeah you are looking pretty good (especially because your a lefty). and yeah, size doesn't always matter. i know people who are 5'8'' 150lbs throwing high 80's where i've also seen 6'4'' 230 lbs thowing only low 80's. its all on mechanics. as a 15 year old myself, high 70s to low 80s with your size is good. i'm a bit bigger than you and i get mid to high 80s so your in good shape.im not quite sure but your doing real great.if you keep it up you could make it into the majors. Im 14 and i absolutley love baseball. i'll ask my 15 year old cousin next time i see him b/c he plays baseball and then i'll edit my answer so you can see what he says.
