No. Have you ever heard of a guy named Arod?i hope you are joking. must be another ignorant red sox fan. all i have to say is A-Rod. 12 HR, 30 RBI. 5 homers in the last 4 games. Yes. Ortiz is pretty solid all year, even against premier pitchers.I know the question isn't about A-Rod, but enough people want to throw his name out there that it needs to be addressed. A-Rod destroys weak pitchers, but is pretty harmless against anybody decent. He preys on weak teams, and middle relievers against teams that don't have pitching depth. A-Rod is number one against the Orioles and Devil Rays, but he doesn't get to face them in the playoffs.

As much as I hate to say it, I think Barry Bonds is more intimidating that David Ortiz. I can't stand Bonds, but the sheer # of intentional base on balls he received makes me believe he is more feared by opposing pitchers.Career #s

Ortiz - 61 IBB in 4,337 TPA and a SLG % of .553
If fact Pujols would be my second choice.
