If coco crisp caught the ball while he was falling into the bullpin would it be a homerun or an out?
Question:
Answers:
What player holds the all time for homeruns?
if he falls into the bullpen its a home run. he has to keep the ball in play, the second he goes outta play with the ball, its a homer. It would be a homer. Running into the stands and catching a ball is obviously a homerun, so falling into the bullpen would have the same result.
Do white guys wear there baseball caps backwards so they?
An Out.Just like falling into the stands for a foul or fair play ball.
home run... u have to have ur feet in bounds when u catch the ball. if it would count as an out, u would see ppl climbin the walls and standing in bulpins. its a good rule.
Question about baseball players' accessories?
If he catches the ball. He must climb back over the fence with the ball and the batter is out. If he tosses the ball i.e. to the right fielder or a fan before climbing back onto the field, it's a homerun.Does Moises Alou catch this ball?
an outWhat baseball game had the most runs?
Home run.The ball has to be caught by a fielder who is IN THE FIELD OF PLAY. He can climb the wall, he can stand on top of the wall, but he cant go over the wall to catch it.
Actually the question was answered a few mins. after the play happened. The announcers checked on this and said that he had to keep his feet in play for it to be an out. Now u can climb the wall and it is an out. If u catch it and THEN go/fall out of bounds it is also an out, but coco would have been already out of bounds if he had caught A-Rod's HR, so it would have stayed a HR!
I believe this is an out.remember several games in old Yankee Stadium where the fences were only about waist high and some players I remeber coming back out of the stands(seats) with the ball for an out..good question.I do believe it would have been an out!! GO YANKEES! STINKIN RED SOX!!
Has there ever been a MLB pitcher who has pitched a perfect game?
an out because he caught the ball.Question about a baseball card.baseball card collectors please reply!?
The fielder is required to stay in the field of play to make the catch on a home run ball. If he goes over the wall with it, it's a home run. The reason it plays out like this is that a caught ball is considered live. So if the fielder goes into the stands to make a catch on a foul ball and does catch it, the ball is live and runners may advance at their peril.Worlds fastest baseball pitch?
A lot of the answers here are frightening. If Crisp had caught the ball while falling into the bullpen, the batter-runner would have been OUT. This isn't football, in which a receiver has to catch the ball and touch both feet in bounds for the reception to be legal.
This is baseball.
What matters is where was the player when he caught the ball. In Crisp's case, he had last been within the playing field's confines, thus a catch would have been good. Had he fallen into the bullpen and THEN caught the ball, it would not have been a catch.
How can i hit a baseball in games, not just in practice?
The key to your question is "while he was falling". The player's statuts of in play/out of play is based on where he was when he left the ground. If he leaps from the field of play, cathces the ball then falls into the bullpen it is an out provided he held onto the ball. If he hit the ground first then made the catch it is a homerun since a player who has fallen into dead ball territory cannot make a legal catch.PS if he catches the ball then falls into dead ball territory, it is a one base award for all runners if the out is not the third of the inning.
