Was California Angels in al or nl?
since 2000:AL EAST: easy. yankees. the yankees are the yankees.
AL CENTRAL: white sox. you have to go with the white sox because they're they only team in that division to have won the WS since 2000.
AL WEST: angels. consistenly good.
NL EAST: braves. they dominated for years and years, and although the mets beat them last year, the mets didn't get any more out of last season than atlanta did.
NL CENTRAL: the cards, the defending champs. they have been at the top of the NL Central (including my Reds) for what seems like every single year. Won the World Series last year, and regardless of how they do this year--at this point they are still the defending champs, so...
NL WEST: this division is weak. but i'm going to go with the d-backs for the sole fact that they won it all in 2001, and none of the other teams here have. the giants lost a heart breaking 4-3 series to the angels the following year. but they lost. btw, the d-backs are 7-3 this year.

What % of major league baseball players are US citizens?
YankeesRed Sox
A's
Angels
Braves
Cardinals
Astros
Giants
.I'm using these teams because for the most part they've been in the playoffs most consistently since 2000. I'm not picking the White Sox like most here for two reasons:
1- I'm a Cub fan!
2- Outside of their 2005 championship, they sucked most of those years. If winning it all makes you good for 10 years, I guess the Marlins and Diamondbacks should be on your list as well.

Why are "Field Box" tickets at Yankee Stadium so cheap?
Why don't many people mention the A's?... They have the second best record since 2000 (behind the evil-empire [yankees]) and have made the playoffs 5 times in 7 years.Since 2000, the Oakland A’s have won four division crowns and one Wild card. That’s five playoff appearances in seven seasons. The other two years they finished in second place. The team also has the second best record in baseball since 2000, trailing only the New York Yankees. But, over the past seven years, The A's have had an average annual payroll of $47 million. The Yankees average yearly payout across those same seven years has been $153 million.
Off the top of my head I would say these teams are the top 8 in no particular order:
Yanks (Evil, but undeniably good)
A's (The best wins-salary ratio, never expected to win)
Angels (although the A's won the division more times, the Halos won a WS)
Red sox (finally won a WS)
White sox (Remarkable year in 2005)
Twins (similar to the A's in wins per dollar, great players)
Cards (Pujols, WS win last year)
Braves (never great but won division so many times)
Diamondbacks/Marlins (both won a WS, but have also sucked)
