What player won the most batting crowns in consecutive years?

Question:While Ty Cobb won an astonishing 11 batting crowns! Some one else holds the record for most consecutive years winning the batting crown in either respected league. Who owns the record for most consecutive years winning the batting crown in their league? How many consecutive years was it?

Answers:

Who will be the best Tigers pitcher at the end of the season?

It is Hornsby with 6, however the case could be made that
Rod Carew should have the record with 7, as his streak of 6 out of 7 batting crowns (1972 to '78) was interrupted in 1977
by George Brett who sat out the last two games to keep his % at .333 to nip Rod who ended up at .331.

Either way, Carew and Hornsby were the dominant hitters in their eras.

Excellent question, by the way.

How do I put a spin on the ball in slow pitch arc softball?

Roger Hornsby of the St. Louis Cardinals won six consectutive batting titles between 1920 and 1925. He won seven titles in all

1920 - .370 BA
1921 - .397 BA
1922 - .401 BA
1923 - .384 BA
1924 - .424 BA
1925 - .403 BA

I need to know this, please help!?

Hornsby does hold the record with 6, but I think Ted Williams could of done it had his career not been interupted by militatary servcie. He led the league in 41-42, then left until 46 for the war. Thats a span of three season in which he didn't play. He didn't win it the year he came back but he still hit 342 after a 3 year break. He led the league the two years after not winning it in 46. Its no gaurantee, but without the missed time he had a possibility of doing it for 8 years in a row. The first two, the three he was gone, the first year back when he was a little rusty, and then the other two he won. I know its alot of maybes, but he still could of done it.

How do you calculate baseball's earned run average, ERA!?

This is in response to sportsguys comment actually George Brett sat out due to hemorhoids if you remember anything about Brett's career sittig out to win an award was not in his character, in fact they tried to get him to sit out in 1980 so that he would have a .400 BA but he would not do it
