195 million does buy alot when you have a smart general manager.I could take half that money and field a better team then Cashman.I would keep A-rod and Jeter and put serviceable cheaper guys around them,get rid of big money bums like Giambi and Abreu who are big time has beens.Sink all the money i save on big name little production bats on pitching.I'd grab myself a James Shields,Cole Hamels and Rich Hill for the same price the Yankees got one half season of a Roger Clemens for.Yes with that kind of money a smart general manager could be dangerous.Luckily for us Red Sox fans they have Cashman who pays huge money for big names who are too old to put up the numbers he's trying to buy.

I wouldn't say the Yankees suck i would say they are playing beautifully for me right now haha.Keep up the good work Cashman I hope Steinbrennar gives you a fat raise and keeps you on board cause you are doing more to help the Red Sox succeed then even Theo Epstein does.Every time Theo makes a move to help the Sox Cashman 1 ups him by doing something really stupid to help us out even more.Atta boy Cashman keep it rolling.Look at the bright side,even if your own fans are booing you you have alot of fans here in MA who love how you are helping out the Red Sox by blowing huge wads of salary cap on 5 inning guys like Clemens who only has a chance to help your team 1 of every 5 games. (won't help much when the pen has to hold it down 4 more innings and blows his leads).If the Sox win the division this year by 15 games I say we give Cashman the MVP award.

Man, they are awful. David Wright could probably have beaten them 2 out of 3 including him pitching 27 innings.They need to stop paying for old farts and get some young guys, or develop players like the teams that are winning rings now are doing. It sure as hell is fun to watch though.

They are old, if they dont win a ring soon most of their players will be retired. Their bats will come around soon, but their pitching and lack of defense is just awful. I give them a 6 out of 10 for this year, and for building to the future a 4.
