Go to a batting range, a lot. Stay in shape. When you go to the batting range, try hitting in all the different speed cages.
Chicago Cubs...or Chicago White Sox?
Work out. Get your timing right in the batting cages. If your a senior I would advise you work out your forearms and legs. You need this is because Varsity baseball takes a lot of skill and when the ball in coming in 80-85 mph you need quick hands. Legs because you wanna get down the line ASAP throws are much easier for people now. If you do these things im almost 100% things will go right for you. Anyone can hit a fastball, but can you hit that fastball where you want it to go.
Use a batting tee, it worked for Tony Gwynn and thousands of other major leaguers.
Throw everyday, and I mean everyday. Also, don't just tryout for the outfield, tryout for a spot on the team. Show some versatility and try another position. Ever think about pitching?
Finally, BE CONFIDENT!
