Should Roger Clemens be criticized fro not traveling with the team?
Will his actions lead to a trend in baseball for players to sign late in a season to extend their time off?

In baseball what does the acronym whip stand for?
If the Yankees were willing to put that in his contract, so be it. What should be criticized is that they are paying him over $10,000 per pitch!! FYI, I don't root for the Yankees or Red Sox, who aren't any better for paying 101 million for Craps- Out.If you are as good as he is, he has an option to play when he is ready to start. Teams can either sign him or not. If you are that good, you have the same option.
He is 44 and one of the best all time. When you are the best business person you get perks. Same goes for sports. In addition, at his age, a whole season might lead to injury and a major injury is pretty much the end of his career. In addition, since he is Roger, his teammates are more open to him not traveling. They know, that when he is on the mound, that he will go out and give everything he has for the team. I don't think that it will become a trend however. The only time it makes sense is if you are a hands down hall of famer who is 40 or older and a pitcher. Those are the only people it makes sense for at all.
Tagging up? did the run count?

What does it mean when a player is called up from minors-(not to report)?
I don't think so because he was signed to a minor league contract so he is not officially on the team yet.How do you understand MLB games.?
Hard to criticized when the team agrees to it. But your second question is a good one I think. Let's say a Super Star is a free agent. He is decided between two teams to sign with. The player expresses he would like days off for travel during the season. Maybe one team goes for it knowing that is all it will take to sign him. What can i do to encourage my baseball team to beat the best team in the league??
When you put up numbers like he has for a career you can do what you want. He hasnt been traveling with a team in years. Obviously at least 2 teams have agreed to let him. If he sucked he wouldnt even get signed. What will help more african american youths play baseball ?
yes he should as should the Yankees and baseball but will you watch him come Sept. and he is pitching against your team late in the season, or in the playoffs or WS. I think you will, as will I. Good LuckThe Yankees really suck this year. Can Clements turn them around?
Jack Morris had the same sort of "show up when it's your turn to pitch" deal in his last season with Cleveland in 1994, and no one ever throws a fit about that. Of course that wasn't the big story in baseball that year.Clemens is Clemens. If the Yankees are willing to let him travel only when he's due to pitch, fine by them. He's happier, they save a bit of travel expense, and it's weird but everyone there has dealt with worse. Other than annoying road fans by not being there to ignore their requests for autographs, I don't see where there's a real issue. It's just something to make noise about.
I hope every free agent pitcher the Yankers sign from this day on demands the samething or signs elsewhere.
How often do pitchers throw no hitters?
He needs to make up his mind. Play basebal liek everyone else, or go retire. I don't think this will start a trend but if it does,it's all Rogers fault.Met fans, do you think Wagner will ever get 3 guys out in a row?
No he shouldn't. Nolan Ryan was given the same privilege to not travel with the team late in his career. I don't see a problem with it.More Questions & Answers...
