Why don't major league pitchers apologize for hitting the batters that they face?

Question:

Who had the second best batting average during Joe Dimaggio's 56 game hit streak?

ur right most major league pitchers don't aplogize for hitting a batter, but most of the time the pitcher will drop their head and shake their head in disapointment, also they might not apologize also because it sort of shows a sign of "weakness" in the pitcher because they want to look "tough" and intimidate batters which you won't get if ur down on ur knees apologizing to a batter, but usually pitchers are still respectful to the batters tho like i said by dropping their heads or slapping their glove for a moment

Wait wait whos last in the A.L. East right now?

Because many times, it's intentional. The infamous, "Beanball".

Can someone give me advice on how to make my fantasy team better?

Because it's just part of the game. I honestly think that more often than not it's done on purpose to intimidate. You ever notice it seems like some of the greatest pitchers hit the most batters? I.E. Pedro Martinez, Roger Clemens.

How many home runs did ernie banks have?

Simply put---Because nice guys finish last! In the world of baseball it is just an unwritten rule to "avenge" a past wrong, a bad call, a dislike for a certain player, or because you are taking up the cause of a teammate. Example: My teammate hits two home runs back-to-back off your pitcher, digging down deep to grab his last curve and jacking it out of the park. Next time up for my guy, your pitcher hits him with the pitch and sends him on to first. Now I'm up to pitch and I will hit your very next batter with the pitch. It is simply put--an eye for an eye in baseball terms.

Which two players are more important then Barry Bonds on the Giants?

They do in fact apologize but usually after the game. It's usually not an intentional thing but there is some kind of unwritten "manly" rule that they are not suppose to show concern in front of the fans. That's why the hit batter never rugs the spot where he gets hit. It's not cool to acknowledge pain.

Do you think baseball should get rid of the balk?

I've heard the announcers say that sometimes pitchers hit batters because the batter's crowding the plate and that's a warning to back off. Other times they say it's because they want to pay the opposing team back, either for hitting one of their players or for a bad call or what have you. It could be any reason, really.
I saw Randy Johnson hit a batter because the opposing pitcher had hit one of the Yankee batters in the previous inning. So I guess he was telling them "You hit one of mine, I hit one of yours!".
It's just part of the game.

Which cities don't deserve a baseball team?

A real life experience question for me... Sweet!
I (the pitcher - I have never intentionally hit a batter in my life:) ... and no other batter should ever doubt that I have the control to throw the ball as hard as I want, anywhere I want. I want you to believe that it's coming hard and I have no idea where it's going. I just want a split second of flinch... do I apologize? No. Unless you are a veteran who knows better. You are a MLB pitcher, you didn't get there by not being able to control your pitches even though some get away. It's part of the game and sometimes a pitch is inside, when it slips, it is obvious to both players and we both have to laugh - although it didn't hurt me as much.
But the only time you apologize for a pitch is when it is an obvious mistake to a hitter you have faced before, otherwise you just let the hitter think what he wants and you move on with the game. In reality there are only a few instances of intentional plunking per year and you usually slow your pitch down to do it, I throw an inside curveball (that everyone now calls the Gyro) that doesn't curve. When you see a 2 seam fastball start inside and fly inside, there is a serious fight about to happen - that is called chasing the guy with extreme prejudice. And the higher the pitch, the more guys on the field.

But apologize... ?? Naw, he has feet. If he can't move them to get out of the way it's not my problem.

Why doesn't My Yahoo show my MLB scores? It showed 2 days ago but not now.?
