Just because chipper is older and has a history of injuries doesn't mean he can't win it. Look at Smoltzie, he had season ending Tommy John in the 90's and he's still rolling at 5-1, turning 40 next week. Look at Bonds, he's 42 and he's hitting over .300 and leading the NL w/ hr's - 12 and this time it's legal! Chipper IS going to keep this up and he IS going to win the NL MVP!If you're in little league what's your teams record?

I love Chipper, but I can't see him keeping this up the whole year, not with his past injuries. Jose Reyes is off to an amazing start same with Jimmy Rollins, Adam Dunn, Matt Holiday, and Carlos Beltran. There are a lot of good players this year. I think Rollins and Dunn will fall out of contention around the All-Star break. Reyes I don't believe has enough power to get the attention he'll need, which is a shame, because in my opinion the best SS in all of baseball! I think it will come down between Holiday and Beltran. I'll give it to Holiday because he plays in such a hitter friendly park, I think he will take the NL batting title this year too!It pains me to say it, but thus far, Josh Beckett is one of the highest impact players in the game -- 7-0 in seven starts, thats almost as many wins as some teams

I can't see Chipper Jones winning the MVP this year. I know he is having a monster start to the season but he is injury prone. I am not doubting that he isn't a great player or anything of that sort. I think he is an amazing leader and a great 3rd baseman.I think Jose Reyes of the Mets will win it. He is becoming a complete player with every game.
If Chipper stays healthy and keep up with this pace, both of these guys will definitely fight it out for the MVP trophy.

my choice is david wright if not jose reyes because it the month of may and although there are alot of breakours this year, i think that we cant be quick to judge anyone. Jose reyes is going to be consistent all year long providing power numbers for a leadoff hitter as well as runs scored and stolen bases and a on base percentage beyond any imaginable number. david wright has been frustrated for most of the year but i think that of late he has been providing key hits and is starting to regain confidence he is young and was one of the top prospects in baseball he plays with tremendous passion., keep an eye out for david.
