I used to play baseball when I lived in Florida a few years back. I was the catcher, and once I wasn't my shin pad on tight enough and my friend was throwing the ball from second and it bounced and moved the pad out of the way( because of the angle it came at me) and it hit me in the shin. Still made the out though.Another time the ball hit me in the arm and left a good size bruise. Right before the elbow too.
Yet another time the batter threw the bat backwards after he hit the ball and it hit me in the face mask. The face mask didn't help much cause that hurt.
I also got hit in the face( not face mask) with a ball when the batter hit on straight up and I tried to get it so I took of my mask and whack! Got it.
I've gotten hit more times than that of course mostly in the shins and forearms and once in the nuts!(thank God for cups!)
i live in Australia and Baseball is not very common over here. When i was young i was playing short stop in training a in field fly ball (perfect flat ball straight in the head hit me so hard KO'd me

yep----a few years ago by John Rocker from the Atlanta Braves...it wasn't hard, he was just tossing the ball back and forth, but not only did i get hit with it, he signed it and let me keep the ball! He was crazy as hell but I loved that guy.Should the Yankees fire Joe Torre or hold on to him?

I was a magnet for the ball when I played. My very first practice in little league, I had a grounder bounce up and hit me in the chest and then chin. I caught several ont the legs that year in the batters box.I"ve been hit in the calf passing by first base and the last year I played, I got popped in the mouth because the 1st baseman was too damn lazy to move off the bag to try and grab the off the mark throw from the SS.
