I would say that Ruth is definitely the most prolific, though players like Aaron, Bonds (sadly), and Cy Young all have their places. We cant forget Cobb, Dimaggio, N. Ryan either. Babe Ruth. When he pitched for the Red Sox, he was regarded as one of the best pitchers in the AL. Moving to the Yankees, he was a great hitter. I can't think of another player in the history of the game that was both an outstanding pitcher and outstanding hitter. The Babe is the best of all time.All around player I would have to say Roberto Clemente. His career was very short lived. He had a lot to show.
