Which do you think is the major change The Houston Astros should do to make it this season?

Question:They started this season looking really bad.

Answers:

If the yankees are a championship caliber team ..?

I am not too worried. The bats started quietly, but that will change due to the law of averages. However, if you remember the 'Stros of the mid 90's they always hit great but the BA in the 7th, 8th and 9th innings with RISP was horrible, around .215 for a while. That caused them to lose a lot of games they could have won. Next the starting pitching has been great. All the starters have a very repectable era and Roy has just been straight disrespectful of opposing hitters, a .175 BAA. The Bully has been the weakest spot. I think Wheeler has a decent shot at becoming a good closer, but he needs to batten down the hatches and get mean. Qualls, White and Miller have their work cut out for them. I have faith in Qualls; and Miller will get the lefties out like he should. But, White is a big question mark for me. Also, I wouldn't mind if they tried Nieve at closer, his fastball is very plus when he is only going to throw 20 or so pitches. The Astros have one of the best pinch-hitters ever in Palmeiro and regardless of the situation either Lamb or Ensberg will be available of the bench to face the righty or lefty as needed. Ensberg should have a good year, due to it being an odd number year. Don't believe me look at his career stats, in even years: not so good; in odd years: very good, it's weird. Lee has to live up to the hype, I don't care about HR's, but his RBI's are needed and he is doing just fine. Berkman will be Berkman, bank on it. I don't think the Astros will be world beaters, but a bad start doesn't mean a bad season, remember the Chronicle Sports page on June 1, 2005. It said RIP for the season, and if memory serves me correctly there were Astros games the same week as Halloween. Damn ChiSox ruined it, but they earned and deserved it. It was just hard to lose 4 games by a total of 6 runs. Keep in mind Clemens may still come back, the bats will wake-up and other teams will have a fire sale at the end of the summer. ..

...and yes, as much as I love him, Lidge does need a therapist. Or an ego-boosting 4 week trip to Round Rock.

Cub Fans: Why are the Cubs Better than the SOX( Besides pointing out attendance)?

Be patient. The hitting will come around soon enough. So far, the starting pitching -- the biggest worry for the team -- has been excellent. If it holds, Houston runs away with the division.
