They don't have the rights to make it any more. Only 2K Sports has the exclusive rights. Just like EA is the only one with the exclusive rights to NFL games.

They lost the rights to use MLB players names so rather than using fake names they decided to make a college game instead. Its another bad decision by MLB because these were the best games on the market. I still play '05 with online roster updates to bring it up to date...
