I was listening to Joe Gargiola the other day and he said there's way too much focus on steroids and it's all nonsense and detracts from the game. He then said what everyone should be talking about is Barry Bonds' swing, which he said has always been one of the greatest swings in all of baseball. Yes, Bonds likely took steroids, yet it wasn't illegal at the time. Is he now? Probably not.He's had that swing since he was in little league. Is he an class a butthole? Yes. So was Ty Cobb. So what!
If you want to take someone behind the woodshed for steroids in baseball, I'd start with the commissioner who knew it was happening but was too happy to let it happen so baseball would rake in tons of cash.

Since Bonds hasn't actually been found guilty of using steroids, there is nothing that can be done. I personally don't think he deserves to hold the record if/when he breaks it. And, if he does break the record and is later found guilty of using, then he should be stripped of the record. NO man can go from being as small as he was, to as big as he is now without the use of a performance inhancing drug. I'd like Aaron to keep the record until a class guy like Arod breaks it. I want to see history be made, but not by BVonds. i think he will do it, then ARod will break it eventually. Barry deserves his chance. To be fair to Bonds, and I don't mean to be, he's never failed a drug test. Yes, it sure looks like he has done steroids, and I am sure sometime when his career is over he'll tell us for sure what caused his body to change, but if we believe in innocent until proven guilty Bonds should be left alone.
