What does the number 33 represent on the Braves sleeve?
Personally, I favor the 1-0 game over the football score games. The 1-0 games are when the manager really becomes influential, particularly in the NL. It's the 7th and your starter is going strong, but you're down by one. Maybe it's an unearned run at that. Do you leave him in in the 8th knowing he's leading off or do you pull him for a pinch hitter to try to get that run back? Maybe your bullpen isn't so good so it may be suicide to let them have the ball.Or you have a guy at second, one out and Sheffield's up. The guy's a .290 to .300 lifetime hitter, but he hasn't hit anything past the infield in a week. Sacrifice and hope the next guy can tie it up with two outs, or do you let him swing away knowing that hellacious bat speed of his gives him the edge against the fireballer on the mound for the bad guys?
Personally, I love those games. They make managers puke blood, but man are they good for the baseball enthusiast
Biggest Scapegoat in MLB History?
Always.Every single pitch counts in a pitcher's duel. The tension on the field, in the stands, and among all those watching and/or listening to the game is palpable.
If you don't want to belive it, check the box score for last night's DET/BAL game.
I know Soriano's injured, but why's Floyd on the bench?
Yes: one mistake can blow the lead. No: Its BORING
Those games are some of the best I've been to. Pitchers' duels are great to watch as each batter faced becomes a battle! It's a different kind of game than a 16-14 hit-a-thon and shows a pitcher's command and ability to bear down under pressure, knowing that one swing of the bat can flip the game upside down. You'll see emotions and tensions run high during these games and it's exciting to see how different players (and fans) react in these high-pressure situations!!
Of course, because it means one or more of a couple things is happening. It could be a pitchers' duel, it could be a crappy team catching a break against a much better team, it could be a no hitter, it could be an error prone game, etc.
The thing is, as long as it is a well played game it is going to be a fun game. I've been to games that finished, say, 6 to 4 that were boring as hell. I've also been to games that were 1 to 0 that were amazing.
How can I get a fitted baseball hat to shrink so that it fits my head?
Of course!!! It is soooooo tense, and everything counts, plus it's up to two people, one on each team: the pitchers. Much more interesting to watch than 33-2.Would it lookfunny if i carry a baseball glove to a triple AAA game?
Yeah. Baseball is baseball. I could enjoy a 1-0 baseball game because you can take the time to enjoy some of the smaller aspects of baseball that are typically overshadowed by the big hitting. Sure, its fun to watch home run derbies or watch a team play small ball and run up the score. But, when the score is low and the defense is on beat you can use the time to focus on the finer details of the pitching, catching, or defensive strategy. How come sac fly isn't called RBI flyout? Why isn't RBI groundout called Sac Ground?
I think age becomes a factor with a questions like this. Lots of kids want to see crazy 8 -10 type games. With people like myself (i'm 33) will enjoy a 1-0 game over a 12-11 game every time. A team with no runs means lots of things. No hits, no walks that is just a couple. Your not going to get a perfect game if it is 1-1.1-0 every pitch counts, ever choice the manager makes means something, and ever foolish strike out hurts that much more.
Who thinks Curt Schilling's bloody sock was a publicity stunt?
You can enjoy the 1-0 game but... It takes until the 7th inning or so before you feel the tension. When you are at the park the high scoring game gets your interest quicker.I went to this game a little while ago. It ended 2-0. It was very boring and went slowly. The experience and the atmosphere were great and all but the thing that I think is interesting is all the runs and the back and forth action. It just isn't the same.
How to Throw a Snow Cone in baseball?
If its 1-0 and that only run came in the first inning, then it is very boring and i don't like it. If the one run comes in the 7th or later, it makes things a little more interesting, since there is so little time left. One pitch, one swing you can have it tied or 2-1. I would rather see a 28-13 score or something like that, its more entertaining. What should the Chicago Cubs theme song be for this year?
sure high scoring games are great but its not every day that u get to watch a 1-0 game.so yes i would enjoy a 1-0 baseball game.like the game from last year twins vs redsox it was between curt schilling and johan santana it was great!!!!!its also always great to watch a 1-0 game becuz theres always a possibility of one pitcher throwing a no-hitter.it depends...
A pitchers duel can be very boreing if your not a HUGE baseball fan, not many hits i can see why you wouldnt like it.
However, being a HUGE baseball fan i would love to see a 1-0 game. There would be some amazing pitching and defence which is no doubt exciting.
If i was setting at home watching it, sure. . If i was at the ballpark, then no. I want my money's worth and alot of runs scored.
